Reservations Now Available for Gala to Raise Funds to Save Our Shelter

Another in a series of updates from the Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter on their efforts to keep the shelter open.

Fundraising Update

Reservations are now available for “After the Ball,” an elegant gala at Rock Wall Wine Company on Thursday, October 27 that will raise funds critical to our efforts to save the shelter. General admission is $75 and VIP passes providing admission to a pre-event reception and select wine-tasting are $125.

The VIP reception begins at 6:30 p.m. and the gala starts at 7 p.m. A variety of wines from Rockwall and other wineries will be available for tasting, along with scrumptious hors d’oeuvres from Angela’s Bistro and special guest appearances by two well known Alameda artists -- mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade and jazz vocalist Natasha Miller. Live and silent auctions will offer customized gift packages items donated by Bay Area merchants.

Sponsors Rock Wall, Angela's, Park Centre Animal Hospital, Bank of Alameda, Jiva Creative, Alameda Sun, South Shore Center, Alameda Beauty Center, Alameda Pet Hospital and others are underwriting the cost of the event through in-kind and direct donations so that the majority of proceeds can be used to save the shelter. FAAS has been given until November 1 to demonstrate to the City of Alameda that we can raise enough funds to assume responsibility for the shelter and run it as a nonprofit to keep the city from closing it.

To purchase admission to the gala, visit http://www.faas.bbnow.org/, call  (800) 871-9012 ext. 372172# or email your request to faas909@gmail.com.
