Wiggle Waggle Walk - A Huge Success!

Lots of well-behaved canines and their happy owners had a great day supporting homeless pets at the Alameda Animal Shelter!

Approximately 200 people and more than 100 dogs spent Sunday, June 3, raising needed funds for Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) at the inaugural Wiggle Waggle Walk.  Everyone took a walk by the bay, watched the Dog Bone Alley doggie fashion show, enjoyed David Monroe the Magician, ate great food, visited pet-themed booths and, all in all, had a great time. Our MC for the day, Michele Kappel-Stone (aka Tippycanoe), entertained us with her ukulele and her great sense of humor.

FAAS greatly appreciates everyone who came to Wiggle Waggle Walk and is especially grateful to the following sponsors:

Wind River, Providence Veterinary Medical Group, Under One Woof, Red Rover, Citizen Canine, Kelly Lux Agent/State Farm Insurance, Bill Botts Mirror Finish Auto Detailing, Chuck and Nancy Bianchi of Harbor Bay Realty, and JD's Pet Care.

We are starting to plan for next year's Wiggle Waggle Walk — so stay tuned!

It was a lovely afternoon and what an assortment of great pups of all sizes and ages! My jobs included being a judge for the 2 contests and handing out dog treats donated by Dog Bone Alley. Gotta tell you that the bigger the dog, the less discriminating they are about what they will put in their mouth!!! Just like people!!! Fun times for all.
