Alameda Death Notices

Some of the people with connections to Alameda who passed away recently

Robert John "Bob" Pirack, a longtime resident of Alameda, attended elementary school in Alameda and graduated from McClymonds High in Oakland, where he excelled in four sports. He played for three seasons with the San Francisco Seals minor league baseball team. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He owned the House of Fi music store in Alameda as well as The Electronic Wizard in Oakland. Pirack passed away on July 17 at the age of 84.

Louis Fore, a resident of Napa, graduated from Alameda High School in 1964. He attended the University of Oregon on a football scholarship. Fore helped his father run the Fore Trucking Co. and Fore Terminal Inc., becoming company president at the age of 31. He established the Foundation for Educational Excellence in Alameda in memory of his first wife, Carolyne. He was active in the Lions Club, the Boys and Girls Club and Ducks Unlimited. Fore passed away on July 6 at the age of 66.

Marilyn "Mari" Diane Autrey, 
a resident of Alameda, is described by friends as someone who lived life with tremendous spirit and grace. A Life Celebration will be held on Aug. 3. Autrey passed away on June 25 at the age of 68.
