Memorial Service for Bryant Cash-Welch Planned for Saturday

Cash-Welch died Jan. 9 at the age of 48.

A memorial service for long-time Dance/10 Performing Arts Studio instructor Bryant Cash-Welch, who died Jan. 9 at age 48, is planned for Saturday, Jan. 18, at 4 p.m. at the Kofman Auditorium, 2200 Central Ave., Alameda. Doors will open at 3 p.m.

According to friends of Cash-Welch, an informal benefit and tribute is also planned for Saturday at 9 p.m. at the Churchward Pub, 1515 Park St., Alameda. The pub is a 21-and-older venue, so no children or teens, please.

At Dance/10, Cash-Welch taught hip hop, jazz, musical theater and Boyz Club to children and adults. He was also a choreographer and a performer who had toured with Whitney Houston's "I'm Your Baby Tonite World Tour."
