Helping Each Other

In spite of all the bad going on in the world today, I witnessed something in Alameda that offers us all a bit of hope.

This afternoon, the traffic signals went out at Webster and Central. I think that it has something to do with the new traffic lights. A young white woman who is blind was trying to cross the street with her seeing eye dog. It was a dangerous situation.

Crossing the street in the opposite direction at the same time was an middle-aged black woman. She not only stopped to help the blind woman cross the street, but guided her across two legs of the intersection.

There is hope!
