For months, essentially since I launched Alameda Patch on Sept. 8, 2010, I have been thinking it would be fun and/or interesting to explore exercise options on the Island.
I know there are many workout choices in Alameda, from sunrise boot camps to Zumba; we've got Nia, Yoga Flow, Pilates, cross fit training programs, dragon boat rowing, and dozens of other ways to move the body and get fit.
But, sadly, exercise keeps dropping to bottom of my very long to-do list.
It's landed above reorganizing the garage, yes, but below napping, watching Modern Family and driving my shift in the soccer practice carpool. And fitness has dropped way below certain other life necessities like working, eating, parenting, shopping and laundry.
But with the start of school Monday marking a new beginning for many of our Island's youngsters, I think it's time to launch this new project.
Our esteemed Judy Judy, Alameda Patch's , suggested the alliterative Fitness Fridays as a title for this new feature. And so it is. Look for it next Friday.
