Alameda Man Arrested for Allegedly Trying to Kidnap 9-Year-Old Girl

Brian Rourock, 53, is facing several charges in connection to the incident on Friday afternoon

Alameda Police officials say a 53-year-old Alameda man was arrested on Friday afternoon for allegedly trying to kidnap a 9-year-old girl from the 3200 block of Madison Street.

Brian Rourock is facing charges of battery, kidnapping and annoying or molesting a child after he allegedly grabbed the girl around 4:30 p.m., according to Lt. Wayland Gee.

"The suspect told her to come with him," Gee said. "She fought away, ran to a friend's house and reported it. An officer recognized the suspect description given by the victim as possibly being someone known to police. The officer went to the suspect's house and the suspect was later positively identified and arrested."

According to a post on the Alameda Police Facebook page, the girl was not injured during the incident.
