Alameda Man Suspected of Stalking Neighbors After Homeowners Association Dispute

The man is suspected of repeatedly vandalizing a vehicle belonging to a couple who live in the same condominium complex.

An Alameda man suspected of repeatedly vandalizing a neighbor couple's vehicle after a homeowners' association dispute has been arrested on suspicion of felony stalking, according to the Alameda Police Department.

Dimitriy Lizin, 30, was taken into custody Tuesday evening after surveillance video footage showed him tampering with the wheels of the victims' parked vehicle on several occasions, according to the APD log.

Lizin is also suspected of spraying cooking oil inside the vehicle's brake area and repeatedly removing air from the tires, the log said.

APD Lt. Jill Ottaviano said Lizin was apparently disgruntled with the results of a decision several months ago by the homeowners' association at the condominium complex where he and the victims live. The complex is located in the 1700 block of Central Avenue, at the corner of Grand Street.

Ottaviano said Lizin may also be charged with elder abuse because of the ages of the victims, whom she described as "a husband and wife over 65."

Lizin's Linkedin.com profile lists him as an associate at a Bay Area investment firm who attended the University of California, Berkeley. According to blockshopper.com, he purchased his Central Avenue condo unit in 2008.
