Alameda Pair Admits to $180,000 Fraud

A married Alameda couple has taken a plea deal after receiving fraudulent food stamps and subsidized child care payments for nine years, the Oakland Tribune reports.

An Alameda couple has admitted to defrauding the state and Alameda County over a period of nine years, according to an article in this morning's Oakland Tribune.

Khadijah and Malik Ali received more than $180,000 in food stamps and subsidized child care payments by concealing their marriage, place of residence and Malik's job with the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, the article says.

The Tribune reports that the couple has accepted a plea deal.
