Armed Robbers Hit Bank on Webster Street Saturday Morning

Alameda police are investigating a Saturday morning bank robbery that occurred even as shoppers strolled the stalls at the nearby Alameda Farmers' Market.

According to the Alameda Police Department, two men produced handguns and demanded money from tellers at the Citibank on the corner of Haight Avenue and Webster Street shortly after 9 a.m. The robbers were last seen getting into an older model, blue Honda Civic. Lt. Ted Horlbeck said that the robbers were captured on video surveillance.

It was the second bank robbery in Alameda in less than a week. On July 26, robbers took money from a bank on Park Street.
