Attempted Rape, Real Estate Scammer and Bus Pass Robbery

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from April 9 to 10. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Tuesday, April 9

  • 7:02 a.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 1300 block of Weber Street. A suspect broke a car window, removed personal belongings without permission, and fled with loss.
  • 9:16 a.m.: Identity theft was reported on at 44 Vista. A suspect used a victim's checking account number in an attempt to pass a forged check in another city.
  • 9:06 p.m.: Petty theft was reported on the corner of Shoreline Drive and Willow Street. An unknown suspect approached a victim and asked if he could have a cigarette. When victim gave the suspect a cigarette, suspect took victim's laptop which was laying on the bench next to her. Suspect ran to a vehicle and fled the scene with the loss.
  • 10:20 p.m.: Attempted rape was reported on Orion Street. A suspect grabbed a victim from behind and dragged her to a concealed area of a park. The suspect pulled the victim's pants down in an attempt to rape her, but victim struggeled free and fled.

Wednesday, April 10

  • 5:53 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1000 block of Tahiti Lane. 
  • 10:13 a.m.: Robbery was reported on the corner of Webster Street and Buena Vista Avenue. A victim was sitting at a bus stop when suspect took victim's bus pass out of her hand. When victim asked for the bus pass back, suspect punched and pushed the victim.
  • 11:51 a.m.: Fraud was reported on the 400 block of Santa Clara Avenue. A victim vired money to suspect for a real estate transaction that turns out to be a scam.
  • 10:52 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 3500 block of McSherry Way.
