Oakland firefighters have controlled a two-alarm blaze at a Victorian house near Seventh and Harrison streets, a fire dispatcher said.

The fire, which was highly visible from nearby Interstate Highway 880, burned at 621 Harrison St., the dispatcher said.

Media reports recommend folks avoid the Posey Tube, which has been closed due to cleanup.

The three-story house, which is vacant, was the site of another two-alarm fire in January.

A fire official said squatters have been known to frequent the building.

The cause of today's fire remains under investigation.
