Forgery, Brandishing a Firearm and Several Auto Thefts

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from April 25 to 28. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Thursday, April 25

  • 1:41 a.m.: A garage burglary was reported on the 100 bock of Corpus Christi Road. A suspect pried open the door to a storage unit, selected loss and fled the area.
  • 1:31 p.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. The arrested entered the store, stole food and liquor, and was placed under citizen's arrest by store security. The arrested had three prior theft convictions and served at least one day on each conviction. The arrested was also found to have an outstanding felony warrant.
  • 4:49 p.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 200 block of Crolls Garden Court. A suspect used a victim's debit card information to withdraw money from her bank account without her permission.

Friday, April 26

  • 9:47 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1400 block of Lafayette Street.
  • 10:50 a.m.: Vehicle burglary was reported on the 900 block of Shorepoint Court.
  • 9:14 p.m.: Three suspects took alcohol from a business on the 2500 block of Blanding Avenue without paying and fled with loss.
  • 8:22 p.m.: A witness placed three people under citizen's arrest for shoplifting. A records check revealed that one had a confirmed outstanding misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. She was arrested while the other two were cited.
  • 9:25 p.m.: Forgery was reported on the 800 block of Marina Village Parkway. A suspect attempted to pass a fraudulent and/or stolen check at Lucky Supermarket. The suspect left behind a wallet containing additional possible fraudulent checks and numerous bank/credit cards with several different names on them.

Saturday, April 27

  • 11:03 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1700 block of Hibbard Street.
  • 12:14 p.m: A person was cited for shoplifting at the 2200 block of South Shore Center. The cited entered the business and selected merchandise. The cited concealed the items, passed all points of sale without attempting to pay for the items, and exited the business. The cited was contacted by security outside the business and placed under citizen's arrest for theft.
  • 1:21 p.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. A suspect took merchandise without making an attempt to pay.
  • 3:10 p.m.: Grand theft was reported on the 1500 block of Ferry Point. A suspect took a victim's property without permission.
  • 3:04 p.m.: A commercial burglary was reported at 1 Singleton Avenue. Unknown suspect broke into victim's storage unit without permission, took items, and fled with loss.
  • 10:27 p.m.: A suspect reportedly brandished a firearm at the 2200 block of South Shore Center. An unknown suspect pointed a gun at victim then fled.

Sunday, April 28

  • 8:23 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1200 block of Pacific Avenue.
  • 10:11 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1800 block of Paru Street.
  • 11:49 a.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 300 block of Park Street. A suspect stole merchandise from a business.
  • 3:55 p.m.: Two suspects were arrested on the corner of Buena Vista Avenue and Constitution Way. They were contacted during a traffic stop. One fled on foot, but was later apprehended after he resisted arrest. The two were found to have outstanding warrants and were found to be in possession of marijuana for sale.
  • 4:42 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1000 block of Santa Clara Avenue.
  • 10:01 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 700 block of Taylor Avenue. A suspect removed screen from rear window, entered residence, took loss and fled.
