Invading Privacy Using Concealed Camera, Child Abuse Arrest and Grand Theft on Pearl Street

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from April 23 to 24. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Tuesday, April 23

  • 5:41 a.m.: A vehicle was on fire at the 1100 block of Ballena Boulevard. Alamaeda Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. AFD investigators found no indications of arson.
  • 9:40 a.m.: Fraud was reported on the 1200 block of Broadway. Unknown suspect made fraudulent charges using victim's credit card number without permission.
  • 1:01 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 2300 block of Santa Clara Avenue.
  • 12:55 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 1900 block of Central Avenue. A suspect tried to enter a home through a locked window.
  • 4:52 p.m.: Grand theft was reported on Pearl Street. Two suspects convinced a victim to give them money. After tricking the victim the suspects fled.
  • 3:28 p.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. Suspect entered a business and stole spray paint.
  • 7:37 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1900 block of Buena Vista Avenue.
  • 5:25 p.m.: A suspect was arrested for child abuse on Gresham Drive. Two victims have been beaten by the arrested for several years. The arrested used an object to hit one victim which caused visible injuries. The victims were taken into protective custody and transported to the assessment center.

Wednesday, April 24

  • 5:14 a.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 300 block of Harbor Light Road. Suspect breaks vehicle window and takes wallet.
  • 10 a.m.: A person was arrested for invading privacy with a concealed camera. The arrested used a video camera to secretly look under victim's dress as she puts her child in her vehicle. The arrested then ran and hid from officers in an attempt to evade arrest.
  • 4:24 p.m.: A person was cited for shoplifting at the 800 block of Marina Village Parkway. The cited exited a business with a shopping cart full items she did not pay for.
