Juvenile Robbers Arrested, False Bomb Report and Drunk Driving

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from Feb. 15 to Feb. 18. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Friday, Feb. 15

  • 12:13 a.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 900 block of Regent Street. A suspect entered the home through a bathroom window, took the loss and fled.
  • 4:48 p.m.: A robbery was reported on Central Avenue. A juvenile boy struck a victim in the face and grabbed the victim's iPad Mini out of his hands. The juvenile fled the scene on foot and was detained nearby. He was positively identified by the victim and loss was recovered. Read more about this incident here.
  • 6:57 p.m.: A robbery was reported on Central Avenue. Another juveline by was arrested. He followed a female victim and took her backpack off her back. He then grabbed her by her hips with both hands and pulled the victim to his groin. He then ran off to hide but was located in the area of the robbery. He was in possession of the backpack and positively identified by the victim. Read more about this incident here.

Saturday, Feb. 16

  • 2:06 a.m.: A hit-and-run misdemeanor was reported ont he corner of Buena Vista Avenue and Grand Street. A vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run collision and the front bumper was left at the scene.

Sunday, Feb. 17

  • 2:05 a.m.: Drunk driving was reported on the 2000 block of Central Avenue. A 23-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were arested. The man was contacted as the driver on a traffic enforcement stop. He exhibited objective signs of alcohol intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests as demonstrated. He also was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was an unlicensed driver. He was placed under arrest for DUI and the additional charges. The woman was in the front passenger in the vehicle.
  • 2:29 a.m.: Drunk driving was reported on the corner of Eagle Avenue and Park Street. A 24-year-old woman was arrested. She was contacted during a traffic enforcement stop. She exhibited signs of intoxication, was unable to perform the field sobriety test as directed and was arrested for DUI.
  • 2:25 a.m.: Drunk driving was reported on the 400 block of Park Street. A 31-year-old woman was arrested. She  was contacted during a traffic enforcement stop. She exhibited signs of intoxication, was unable to perform field sobeity test as directed and was arrested for DUI.
  • 7:40 a.m.: Forgery was reported on the 1200 block of South Loop Road. A 46-year-old man was arrested. He injured his wrist when he punched through the glass of a fire extinguisher case out of anger. He was arrested for possessing ficticious bills and on an unrelated outstanding warrant.

Monday, Feb. 18

  • 2:01 a.m.: A 45-year-old man was arrested for violating parole and probation. He was arreste don the 1700 block of Park Street. He was contacted for loitering near a closed business. He was on probation and determined to be in violation of his probation curfew.
  • 6:35 a.m.: Burglary was reported on the 2400 block of Lexington Street. A suspect pried the padlock off the northwest door to building and gains entry. The suspect cut copper wire and rolled it up. The suspect fled the building leaving the wire behind.
  • 8:40 a.m.: A burglary vehicle was reported on the 2600 block of Blanding Avenue. A suspect broke a victim's right front window of his vehicle and stole two bags containing miscellaneous personal items.
  • 2:37 p.m.: A false bomb report was made on Alameda Avenue. The arrested called multiple people stating there was a bomb in Alameda. One of the people believed the threat was real and feared for her safety and the safety of her family.
  • 9:09 p.m.: Auto theft was reported ont he 900 block of Park Street.
