A 68-year-old Alameda woman who was reported missing on Saturday was found on Bay Farm Island this morning (Sunday) and is safe and unharmed, an Alameda Police Department spokesperson said today.
Lt. Jill Ottaviano said the missing woman, Harriet Holbrook, was seen by a local resident who notified police.
Officers were taking Holbrook to a reunion with her soon before noon today, Ottaviano said.
Holbrook was reported missing Saturday, Dec. 28, after being last seen about noon in front of her residence in Alameda with her dog, a chocolate Labrador retriever.
In a bulletin issued Saturday evening, Alameda police said Holbrook suffers from an early stage of Alzheimer's disease.
