Narcotics, Shoplifting and Suspect Attempts to Run Victim Over With Car

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log May 6-8. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Monday, May 6

  • 1:19 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1700 block of Buena Vista Avenue. An unknown suspect attempted to remove a trailer from a truck's tow hitch. Another suspect used a drill to gain entry into another truck, and then used the drill to damage the ignition in an attempt to steal the vehicle. Both suspects fled on foot.
  • 8:42 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 3100 block of Lincoln Avenue.
  • 12:35 p.m.: Robbery was reported on the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue. An unknown suspect took a victim's cell phone against her will, by use of fear and fled with loss.
  • 11:55 p.m.: Assault with a weapon was reported on the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue. During an argument, a suspect hit a victim with a chair and attempted to run him over with his vehicle. The victim sustained no injuries and the suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Tuesday, May 7

  • 5:08 a.m.: A suspect was arrested and another cited for possession of narcotics on the 1900 block of Webster Street. They were involved in a verbal argument. The arrested became combative and refused to follow police orders. The arrested was found to be in possession of cocaine for sales and was in possession of ecstasy pills. The cited was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, in possession of methamphetamine, and in possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
  • 12:49 p.m.: A suspect was arrested for possession of narcotics on the 1900 block of Webster Street. The arrested was contacted on a traffic stop for a CVC violation. The arrested had false registration tabs on his vehicle. He was found to be driving on a suspended CDL. He gave consent to search his person and vehicle. A K9 and hand search of his vehicle yielded torn plastic bags containing suspected crack cocaine. A search of his person yielded cash in small denominations. He was taken into custody for possession of crack cocaine for sale, driving on a suspended CDL.
  • 2:43 p.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. The arrested entered the business and removed merchandise from display. The arrested then concealed merchandise on her person and exited the store making no attempt to pay for merchandise at any of the open registers.
  • 2:52 p.m.: A person was cited for shoplifting on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. The cited was stopped by store security after concealing merchandise on his person and then exiting the store without paying for the merchandise. Security requested a citizen's arrest.
  • 5:37 p.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. A person was cited for etnered a store, concealing merchandise and leaving without paying.

Wedneday, May 8

  • 9:05 a.m.: A narcotics report was made on teh 1800 block of Poggi Street. A suspect was contacted trespassing on private property. The suspect fled on foot upon contact with officers and left behind methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools.
  • 9:42 a.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 2400 block of Shoreline Drive. A suspect used a victim's personal information to establish a Comcast Cable account.
