Parolee Convicted in Shooting Death of Alameda Woman

Shanika Latham, 20, was killed in Oakland in August, 2012.

An Oakland parolee was convicted Wednesday of the murder of Alameda resident Shanika Latham, 20, and the attempted murder of her boyfriend, Lawrence Nero, 25, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The charges against Julius Scott, 27, stemmed from a shooting in connection with a botched Ecstasy deal in Oakland last year, the article says.
