Police officials say that while a resident on Madison Street was out in her garden, a man burglarized her home Saturday evening.

According to a Nixle Alert sent out by police, the suspect gained entry to the victim's home through an unlocked side door.

"The suspect stole the victim’s laptop and backpack, which contained her wallet and other personal effects."

Police released a photo of the suspect and are asking for the public's help identifying the man. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Cobb and reference case #14-1032.

Is that a tattoo by his right eye? Triangular in shape or like an arrow? Click on the photo and it enlarges quite a bit.

Starting to think of setting up some web cams around the house myself. With the right software you can get alerted (with pictures) of any movement in the house when you are gone

Alameda is hopeless. The tag team of: Oakland ghetto-trash crime spillover and Section 8 render Alameda a lost cause and an unsafe place to live and raise a family. This town has changed massively and not in any way for the better.

Did anyone get a chance to enlarge the pic and take a look at the eye area? I'm curious about second opinions as to what I see.

Conspicuously silent in the commentary here is the usual group of Alameda's Lexus liberals who regularly make us barf with their silly remarks. Hmmm. Wonder why.

You tell em Cap'n Lou. Pleasantville must treat you swell huh!

Jeremy, if your alluding to the movie is your own sarcastic way of saying Alameda has been ruined and now sucks, you're right. If you're trying to say Alameda hasn't been ruined and doesn't suck, you're wrong.

The other weekend I saw some young adults with clipboards going around the neighborhood. I guessed that they are those shifty "magazine subscription" solicitors that are trucked in to canvas the neighborhood and scam you. It wouldn't surprise me if they're casing your place at the same time.

I saw a girl going door to door with a little notebook tucked in the back of her pants. I didn't answer the door. About 20 minutes later the police were at my neighbors house because of a burglary.
