Police Log: A Dishonest Duffer, the Wages of Road Rage

MONDAY, SEPT. 23

Commercial Burglary - A thief or thieves swiped tools from a business in the 1500 block of Buena Vista Avenue.

Petty Theft - The owner of a restaurant in the 1300 block of Park Street reported that a waitress stole from the till. The victim did not want to press charges.

Petty Theft - On the 400 block of Buena Vista Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. someone ran away with a phone after asking the victim to borrow it to make a call.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 24

Brandishing a Weapon - Police arrested a 62-year-old man around 1 p.m. at the Southshore Center after it was reported that he was wielding a knife and approaching people in a threatening manner.

Grand Theft - A large flat-screen television was stolen from a vacant business in the Southshore Center.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 25

Warrant Arrest - Police arrested a 29-year-old man around 8 a.m. on Oak Street after a probation search revealed that there was a warrant for his arrest.

Burglary (Vehicle) - A thief took golf clubs from a locked pickup truck parked in the 300 block of Tideway Drive.

Assault - It started with a honk on the Fruitvale Bridge and ended with handcuffs. Police arrested a 43-year-old woman around 6 p.m. when a road rage incident devolved into a brawl on the 2700 block of Tilden Way. According to police, the arrested woman threw a block of concrete at another woman after they had both pulled over and exited their cars to confront each other following a disagreement while driving.
