Police Log: Armed Robbery on High Street By Multiple Suspects, Residential Burglaries and Auto Thefts

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from July 1 to 2. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Monday, July 1

  • 7:23 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 2000 block of Alaska Packer. Suspect took victim's motorcycle. 
  • 8:50 a.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 1100 block of Via Alamosa. 
  • 8:26 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 2000 block of Challenger Drive.
  • 10:01 a.m.: Garage burglary was reported on the 1400 block of Fountain Street. Suspect forced entry into victim's detached garage with unknown tool.
  • 1:19 p.m.: Forgery was reported on 12 Barnegate Bay. Suspect obtained victim's check by an unknown means. Suspect altered the information on the check then cashed it for $2,200.
  • 3:55 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 1100 block of Otis Drive. Suspect shouldered front door of residence causing a decorative panel to break. Suspect reached in and opened door. Suspect searched residence and fled with loss.
  • 4:35 p.m.: Grand theft from a vehicle was reported on the 2900 block of Main Street. Suspect stole catalytic converter from vehicle.
  • 10:56 p.m.: Robbery was reported on the 1400 block of High Street.
    A group of unknown suspects took the victim's belongings by means of force. One of the suspects pointed a firearm at one of the victims. Suspects fled the scene with the loss.
Tuesday, July 2
  • 5:36 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 2200 block of San Jose Avenue. 
  • 7:24 a.m.: Commercial burglary was reported on the 2400 block of Pan Am Way. Suspect gained entry to victim's storage shed and stole tools.
  • 11:56 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 3500 block of Black Oleander.
  • 12:08 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1600 block of Park Street. 
  • 2:53 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 1500 block of 4th Street. Suspect gained entry to victim's house, stole jewelry and fled scene with loss.
  • 9:05 p.m.: Robbery was reported on the 1400 block of Hoover Court. A 35-year-old woman was arrested. During an argument, she took the victim's cell phone while punching and kicking her. The suspect smashed out the victim's vehicle front windshield and put a large dent on the passenger side of the car with a brick. The suspect was positively identified during a photo line-up and was taken into custody in front of her home without inciden
  • 9:47 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 1400 block of Seminary Avenue. Suspect attempted to gain entry into victim's residence through the windows and crawl space but was unsuccessful.
