Police Log: Commercial and Residential Burglaries, Resisting Arrest and Auto Theft

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from June 3 to 5. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Monday, June 3

  • 3:15 p.m.: A commercial burglary was reported on the 1900 block of Sherman Street. A suspect forced entry into victim's storage unit door, took tools and fled.
  • 4:23 p.m.: A commercial burglary was reported on Singleton Avenue. A suspect cut the padlock off a storage shed door, entered the shed and stole belongings.
  • 5:02 p.m.: Grand theft bike was reported on the 1300 block of Park Street. A suspect took a victim's bicycles and digital TV converter from an unsecured backyard and flees with the loss.
Tuesday, June 4
  • 1:12 p.m.: An arrest was made on the corner of Taylor Avenue and 9th Street where a suspect resisted police. The 49-year-old man fled from a bicycle stop for violation. He failed to obey multiple commands to stop. He was eventually detained and found to be in possession of a switchblade. He was in violation of his probation.
  • 1:01 p.m.: Grand theft was reported on the 200 block of Creedon Circle. A suspect took a victim's purse from her closet.
  • 5:27 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1800 block of Central Avenue. 
  • 7:03 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 1700 block of Wood Street. A suspect attempted to break into home while victim was home.
Wednesday, June 5
  • 12:50 a.m.: Burglary was reported on the 300 block of Pacific Avenue. Suspect entered victim's unlocked garage door and took tools. During the theft, the suspect was interrupted by the victim and fled the scene. An area check was conducted which ended with negative results.
  • 8:51 a.m.: A commercial burglary was reported on the 900 block of Atlantic Avenue. A suspect entered the business and stole a laptop computer.
  • 9:23 a.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 1100 block of Pacific Marina. Suspect stole victim's camera.
  • 10:47 a.m.: A commercial burglary was reported on the 900 block of Atlantic Avenue. Suspect stole four laptop computers.
  • 10:54 a.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 1600 block of Concordia Street. Suspect removed board covering rear door
    of residence, broke door and entered residence. Suspect removed washer and dryer and re-boarded door.
  • 12:39 p.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 200 block of Pacific Avenue. Suspect entered victim's residence and stole several items. Suspect also stole the spare key to victim's vehicle and took the vehicle without permission.
  • 2:43 p.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. Suspect entered business, selected merchandise off shelves and left store without purchasing items. The Suspect was cited.
  • 6:30 p.m.: Vehicle burglary was reported on the 600 block of Westline Drive. Suspect broke the passenger side window of victim's vehicle and stole her purse, laptop, and miscellaneous currency from inside.
  • 7:53 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 1400 block of Broadway. Suspect entered victim's storage space without permission, took loss and fled.
