Stabbing Victim Refuses to Share Details, Gun-Related Vandalism and Bad Checks

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from Dec. 31 to Jan. 7. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Monday, Jan. 7

  • 3:14 a.m.: A 14-year-old was arrested on the corner of Pan Am Way and West Midway Avenue. The suspect was found to have the objective signs of intoxication and was later arrested for DUI, possessing a concealed knife, and for being an unlicensed driver.
  • 8:32 a.m.: Petty theft shoplifting was reported on the 2300 block of Santa Clara Avenue. 
  • 11:49 a.m.: A burglary vehicle was reported on the 2300 block of South Shore Center. A suspect broke the vehicle's window and stole personal items.
  • 12:19 p.m.: A commercial burglary was reported on the 1100 block of Harbor Bay Parkway. A suspect entered the business and stole cash.
  • 3:21 p.m.: Vandalism was reported on the 2700 block of Orion Street. A suspect shot at a window of an unoccupied computer lab using an apparent pellet gun.

Sunday, Jan. 6

  • 6:53 a.m.: A burglary vehicle was reported on the 300 block of Central Avenue. A suspect forced entry into multiple locked vehicles and fled with loss.
  • 9:53 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 2100 block of Clinton Avenue. 
  • 10:21 a.m.: A suspect stole debit card from mailbox on the 900 block of Santa Clara Avenue and made unauthorized charges.
  • 11:19 a.m.: A suspect withdrew funds from victim's bank account from out of state. The incident was reported on the 1400 block of Grand Street.
  • 7:21 p.m.: A victim is stabbed twice by an unknown object at an unknown location in Alameda. The victim refuses to give any details about the incident.
  • 8:36 p.m.: A burglary vehicle was reported on the 300 block of Central Avenue. A suspect broke the window on a victim's vehicle, unlocked the door, took loss without permission and fled.

Saturday, Jan. 5

  • 1:27 a.m.: A burglary vehice was reported on the 2300 block of Santa Clara Avenue. A suspect broke the passenger side windows of the vehicle by unknown means. The suspect entered the unlocked vehicle, stole the victim's miscellaneous clothing and fled.
  • 11:42 a.m.: A suspect used a victim's personal information to apply for credit on the 800 block of Marina Village Parkway.
  • 12:01 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 3300 block of Fernside Boulevard. The suspect unsuccessfully attempted to steal the vehicle, but took the loss from inside.
  • 2:54 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1000 block of Aughinbaugh Way. A suspect stole the victim's locked vehicle from a residential street.
  • 4:43 p.m.: Bad checks were reported on the 2200 block of Otis Drive. A 22-year-old woman was reported for depositing a fraudulent check into her savings account. Two days later, she withdrew the check amount. She attempted to cash two more fraudulent checks.
  • 5:31 p.m.: Petty theft shoplifting was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. A 31-year-old woman was cited and placed under citizen’s arrest for shoplifting from TJ Maxx by store loss prevention.
  • 10:32 p.m.: Arson was reported on the 2000 block of Santa Clara Avenue. A suspect placed a rag soaked with an unknown fuel inside the victim's vehicle's gas tank, lit the rag on fire causing damage to a portion of the vehicle and then fled the scene.

Friday, Jan. 4

  • 12:45 a.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 2200 block of Otis Drive.
  • 4:35 p.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. A 20-year-old woman and 15-year-old juvenile were placed under citizen's arrest by a store loss prevention employee after being caught shoplifting. They concealed store merchandise in their purses and exited store without making any attempt to pay.
  • 5:17 p.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 2500 block of Blanding Avenue. Two 15-year-old juveniles were placed under citizen's arrest by a witness, a loss prevention employee. The arrested were seen selecting store merchandise, concealing it and leaving the store without making any attempt to pay for the items taken.
  • 6:28 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1700 block of St. Charles Street. 
  • 10:17 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1800 block of Clinton Avenue.

Thursday, Jan. 3

  • 2:15 a.m.: A 30-year-old man was arrested for narcotics on the 1600 block of Park Street. He was contacted on a consensual contact. During a probation search he was found to be in possession of burglar tools, narcotics paraphernalia and methamphetamine. He exhibited objective signs of being under the influence of a stimulant and was placed under arrest and transported to North County Jail for booking.
  • 11:27 a.m.: A burglary vehicle was reported on the 2600 block of Blanding Avenue.

Wednesday, Jan. 2

  • 11:11 a.m.: A 41-year-old man was arrested on trespassing on the 1600 block of Central Avenue. He was living on property which was clearly posted as a "no trespassing" site. He refused to leave.
  • 6:27 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 900 block of Marina Village Parkway.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

  • 3:29 a.m.: Vandalism was reported on the 2200 block of Otis Drive. A suspect shot a window with a BB gun, which caused the window to shatter then fled the area after causing the damage.
  • 9:26 a.m.: A suspect discharged firearm into the air. The round entered the rear window to a victim's residence and came to rest on the bedroom floor.
  • 12:52 p.m.: A suspect discharged a firearm into the air. Someone found the bullet in a parking lot.

Monday, Dec. 31

  • 11:45 a.m.: A burglary vehicle was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. A suspect broke the windshield on a victim's vehicle in an attempt to steal loss.
  • 2:27 p.m.: Bad checks were reported onthe 2200 block of South Shore Center. The suspect attempted to cash a fradulent check.
  • 5:09 p.m.: Forgery was reported on the 2200 block of Otis Drive. A 17-year-old juvenile entered a bank and attempted to cash a forged check.
  • 5:21 p.m.: A suspect used a victim's personal information to make purchases on the 1500 block of High Street.
  • 5 p.m.: A commercial burglary was reported on the 1500 block of Park Street. A suspect entered a cell phone business and stole a display cell phone by cutting the safety cord. The suspect fled the scene with loss.
