Police Log: Paper Towel Fire at Alameda High, Burglaries

Boat thefts continue with the disappearance of a dinghy and its trailer.

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log Wednesday, Oct. 2. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 2 

Thefts from vehicles — A bicycle, a CD and miscellaneous other items were stolen from vehicles in separate incidents on Broadway, San Jose Avenue and Pearl Street.

Arson — An unknown person set a paper towel dispenser on fire at Alameda High School about 8 a.m.

Commercial burglary — A thief pulled open locked double doors at a business at 430 Westline Drive and stole an assortment of tools.

Burglary, interrupted — Someone broke a window of a residence on Souza Court but fled when a security alarm sounded.

Boat theft — A boat and trailer were reported stolen from 1070 Marina Village Parkway.
