Police Log: Garage Burglars Steal Bikes, Police Battery and Parolee Arrested for Using Stun Gun

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from June 20 to 23. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Thursday, June 20

  • 7:37 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1100 block of Pacific Marina. 
  • 8:10 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 800 block of Central Avenue.
  • 12:48 p.m.: A 48-year-old woman was arrested for carrying a concealed dirk or dagger on the 2400 block of Santa Clara Avenue. She was stopped for a driving violation and was found to be in possession of the concealed dirk or dagger.
  • 3:55 p.m.: Robbery was reported on Pacific Avenue. A suspect grabbed a victim and demanded the items in his pockets. The suspect grabbed a twenty dollar bill from victim's pocket and victim ran home in fear.
  • 6:38 p.m.: Commercial burglary was reported on the 700 block of West Essex Drive. A 50-year-old man was arrested. He broke into an unoccupied building through a window to steal copper wire.
  • 11:27 p.m.: Battery was reported on the 400 block of Buena Vista Avenue. A suspect hit a victim in the face causing the victim to lose consciousness. Victim also sustained serious injury.

Friday, June 21
  • 12:03 a.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 400 block of Central Avenue. A suspect entered victim's apartment, took loss and fled.
  • 8:51 a.m.: Vehicle burglary was reported on the 2900 block of Lincoln Avenue. Suspect entered victim's locked vehicle by unknown means and removed headphones from rear seat.
  • 11:24 a.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 200 block of Puddingstone Road. Suspect filed a tax return using victim's identity.
  • 11:17 a.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 1300 block of 8th Street. Suspect broke into victim's garage and residence. Victim did not know if there was any loss during the burglary.
  • 1 p.m.: Bad checks were reported on the 2000 block of Santa Clara Avenue. Unknown suspect cashed a fraudulent check from victim's checking account.
  • 9:19 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 400 block of Neptune Gardens Avenue. Suspect entered victim's residence and stole property.
Saturday, June 22
  • 7:47 a.m.: Garage burglary was reported on the 3100 block of El Sereno. Suspect broke into victim's garage and stole five bicycles.
  • 10:04 a.m.: Grand theft was reported on 26 Miranda Court. Suspect stole two rings from victim's jewelry box.
  • 12:30 p.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 900 block of Shorepoint Court. Suspect forced entry into victim's vehicle and took loss.
  • 12:29 p.m.: A 42-year-old woman and 50-year-old woman were arrested for cited for narcotics on the 1500 block of Buena Vista Avenue. They were contacted on private property without permission. The man was found to have burglary tools and methamphetamine in his possession. He also kicked and damaged a patrol vehicle window while being transported to jail.
  • 12:56 p.m.: Police Battery was reported on the 1500 block of Park Street. A 53-year-old man was arrested. He was contacted after causing a disturbance. He displayed signs of intoxication and was unable to care for his own safety. While being taken into custody, he physically resisted officers and refused to obey their verbal commands. While being searched, he spit in the face of one of the officers. He also refused to sign a citation.
  • 1:42 p.m.: Garage burglary was reported at 22 Bannister Way. Suspect broke into victim's garage and stole a bike.
  • 2:39 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 2400 block of Lincoln Avenue. Suspects entered victim's apartment through the unlocked front door, located victim's loaded handgun lying on his bed, and fled with loss.
  • 6:04 p.m.: Vehicle burglary was reported on the 2000 block of Challenger Drive.
  • 9:06 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 1700 block of Otis Drive. Suspect forced entry into victim's residence which activated an alarm system. Officers responded and found apparent signs of a burglary. Victim was unable to respond to the scene to determine if any items were taken.
Sunday, June 23
  • 12:12 a.m.: Vehicle burglary was reported on the 3000 block of Marina Drive. Suspect broke victim's window and opened the glove compartment in an attempt to commit theft. Suspect fled the scene and it was determined there was no loss.
  • 12:01 p.m.: Vehicle burglary was reported on the 900 block of Shorepoint Court. Suspect forced entry into vehicle and stole several items from inside.
  • 11:10 a.m.: Grand theft was reported on the 1300 block of Loop Road. Suspect cut the valve off a victim's water main and fled the scene with it.
  • 10:09 a.m.: Vehicle burglary was reported on the 300 block of Tideway Drive.
  • 12:40 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 400 block of Yorkshire Road. Suspects forced entry into victim's residence but didn't take anything from inside.
  • 2:58 p.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 1800 block of Chapin Street. Suspect opened a MasterCard account using victim's s personal information without his consent.
  • 2:09 p.m.:Auto theft was reported on the 2200 block of Clinton Avenue. 
  • 9:11 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 2200 block of Chipman Street. Suspect gained entry to victim's home by forcing open the door. Suspect fled the residence when he saw victim inside his residence.
  • 9:32 p.m.: A 42-year-old man was arrested for using a stun gun on the 2300 block of Eagle Avenue. He was contacted during a disturbance investigation and found to be in possession of a stun gun, which was a violation of his parole and probation.
