Robbers Attack Alameda Man Outside Police Station

A 22-year-old man was held up at gunpoint outside a 7-Eleven Sunday evening. After trying to run off, five suspects followed him to the nearby Alameda Police Department where they repeatedly beat him outside.

After attempting to rob a man at gunpoint at a 7-Eleven parking lot Sunday morning, five suspects then chased him to the nearby Alameda Police Department where they repeatedly punched and kicked him outside the station.

According to a report by the Oakland Tribune, the 22-year-old victim from Alameda told police he just left the 7-Eleven at Lincoln Avenue and Oak Street around 1:35 a.m. when a man approached him in the parking lot and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at his face demanding money.

The victim refused and was then struck across the mouth with the firearm, Alameda police Lt. Ted Horlbeck told the Tribune.

The victim ran from the parking lot toward the police station nearby where he was followed by the suspects — three men and two women — the article reports.

The group tackled him and all five suspects repeatedly punched and kicked him, acccording to the Tribune.

The victim was reportedly transported to Highland Hospital in Oakland, where he was treated for a skull fracture and multiple cuts and bruises.
