St. Joseph's Student Reported Missing, Last Seen in Alameda

Elisabeth Griffith, 15, lives in the Rockridge area of Oakland but was last seen in Alameda several hours after her classes ended last Friday, her parents say.

Elisabeth Griffith, a 15-year-old sophomore at St. Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda, has been reported missing, according to an article published today (Tuesday) in the Contra Costa Times.

The girl was last seen on the St. Joseph campus about 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, although she apparently was not on campus when school let out at 2:40 p.m. that day, the Times article says.

Her parents, who live in Oakland's Rockridge neighborhood, have filed a missing persons report with the Oakland Police Department, it says.

Elisabeth's father, Mike Griffith, told the Times that his daughter suffers from depression and that she has disappeared for a few hours at a time before, but never for this long.

Elisabeth is described as Latina, 5'2" tall and weighing about 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black sleeveless Ramones T-shirt and patterned black-and-white leggings, the Times article said.
