Thief Targets Coin-Operated Laundry Rooms, Group of Women Assault with Weapon and Car Rim Burglary

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from Jan. 25 to Jan. 27. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Sunday, Jan. 27

  • 6:08 a.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 1400 block of 8th Street. The suspect broke the victim's vehicle window, took loss from inside, and fled.
  • 1:05 p.m.: Burglary was reported on the 1400 block of Willow Street. A suspect unlocked a laundry room and stole quarters out of the coin operated dryer.
  • 2:38 p.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 800 block of Union Street. A suspect broke the vehicle's window and stole property from inside.
  • 7:56 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 2200 block of Stanta Clara Avenue. A suspect took the victim's vehicle without permission.
  • 10:12 p.m.: Assault with a weapon was reported on the 300 block of Park Street. An unknown group of female suspects threatened a victim's life, assaulted him with their open hands and fists, and assaulted him with a metal rod during an argument. The suspects fled the scene prior to police officer's arrival.

Saturday, Jan. 26

  • 9:43 p.m.: A burglary was reported on the 1200 block of Regent Street. A suspect entered an unlocked laundry room and attempted to steal money from a coin operated dryer.
  • 10:38 a.m.: Identity theft was reported on teh 1100 block of Otis Drive. A suspect obtained a victim's personal information by unknown means and used the information to apply for credit.
  • 2:54 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 400 block of Park Street. A suspect stole a victim's unlocked vehicle from his apartment complex's assigned parking space.
  • 3:04 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. A suspect  stole a locked vehicle by unknown means and fled.

Friday, Jan. 25

  • 7:30 a.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 500 block of Pacific Avenue. A suspect broke the vehicle passenger side window, took loss and fled the scene.
  • 8:07 a.m.: Grand theft from a vehicle was reported on the 500 block of Buena Vista Avenue. A suspect removed all four rims and tires from the victim's vehicle and fled the scene with the loss.
  • 12:52 p.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 2000 block of Franciscan Way. A suspect broke the window and took loss and fled.
  • 8:54 p.m.: A robbery was reported on the 500 block of Buena Vista Avenue. Three susects hit a victim from behind causing him to fall to the ground. The suspects kicked the victim several more times in the head while one of them took his belongings from inside his pant's pockets.
