Wedding Dress Shoplifters, Violating Parole and Probation and Narcotics Arrest

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from April 1 to 3. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Monday, April 1

  • 8:36 a.m.: A suspect was found in possession of a stolen bicycle on the 2300 block of 103rd Avenue in Oakland.
  • 10:55 a.m.: Auto theft was reported ont he 1400 block of 65th Avenue. An unreported stolen vehicle from Oakland was recovered in Alameda.
  • 11:09 a.m.: Grand theft was reported on the 100 block of Diapian Bay. An unknown suspect took jewelry from a victim's bedroom.
  • 3:16 p.m.: A commercial burglary was reported on the 1800 block of Park Street. Two suspects entered a business by using bolt cutters to gain entry into a storage shed which activates a burglary alarm. Both suspects fled the scene, getting into a waiting vehicle. A third suspect drove the vehicle.
  • 3:49 p.m.: A woman reported finding a penny in her food at a restaurant located on the 1200 block of Park Street.
  • 7:37 p.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 1400 block of Bay Street. An unknown suspect entered a victim's home through an unlocked window, stole several items, and fled in an unknown direction.

Tuesday April 2

  • 2:51 p.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 100 block of Santa Clara Avenue. An unknown suspect used a victim's identity to open credit card accounts.
  • 6:32 p.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. A 23-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting a Kohl's. She had an outstanding outside agency warrant.
  • 6:01 p.m.: Fraud was reported on the 1500 block of Fernside Boulevard. A suspect fraudulently obtained money from a victim.
  • 11:37 p.m.: A 42-year-old man was arrested for violating parole and probation. ARR contacted during a bicycle stop for a probation compliance check. He removed drug paraphernalia from his pocket and broke it. He had electrical wire, burglary tools, and violated his probation by committing the previously listed crimes.

Wednesday, April 3

  • 12:17 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 200 block of Brush Street.
  • 1:05 p.m.: Grand theft shoplifting was reported on the 2400 block of Central Avenue. Suspects entered a bridal boutique, selected two wedding dresses, and fled without paying. The suspects were confronted by store employees outside and surrendered loss. They fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival.
  • 12:17 p.m.: A 24-year-old woman was arrested for narcotics. During a report of a stolen vehicle, she was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest. While being booked, she was also found to be in possession of Methamphetamine.
  • 11:37 a.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 3500 block of Magnolia Drive. An unknown suspect used a victim's personal information to open a credit card account.
  • 2:34 p.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 1700 block of Park Street. Suspects selected food products while the cashier was preoccupied, and fled undetected.
  • 3:41 p.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 1700 block of Versailles Avenue. A suspect attempted to gain entry into a residence by prying off the window screen.
  • 6:33 p.m.: A commercial burglary was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. A 39-year-old woman was arrested. She took unpaid merchandise while inside the business and attempted to return it for credit. When denied, she took the same merchandise and exited the business without paying for it.
