Police Citizen Academy Starts March 13

Sign-up for behind-the-scenes look at policing in Alameda

 

The 's Citizen Police Academy will commence again March 13 and be held for a total of eleven consecutive Tuesdays from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

This is the 24th academy which allows the public to explore many aspects of policing as well as a behind-the-scenes look into the police department.

To participate, you need to be at least 18 years-old, a resident of or employed in the City of Alameda and have no misdemeanor or felony convictions. 

During the classes those attending will experience a variety of activities including meeting with , having an opportunity to shoot a firearm at the police firing range, touring the Santa Rita County Jail, analyzing crime scene scenarios, learning defensive tactics and driving a police car.
