Assemblymember Rob Bonta Appointed to Five Policy Committees

Assemblymember Rob Bonta (D-Oakland) is proud to announce that Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez appointed him to five Assembly committees of great importance to Oakland, Alameda, and San Leandro.

In addition to his Chairmanship of the Public Employees, Retirement and Social Security Committee, Bonta will serve on the following committees: Health, Transportation, Banking and Finance, and Elections and Redistricting.

“I am honored that the Speaker appointed me to such vital committees. From implementing health care reform to strengthening our transportation system to state pensions, this is a real opportunity to continue working on issues important to my district and the people of California,” said Assemblymember Bonta.

“As President of the Alameda Social Service Human Relations Board and Board Director on the Alameda Health Care District, I know the importance of protecting and providing health services to the most vulnerable members of our community. As a member of the Health Committee, I am committed to ensuring that we have a social service system that protects and serves the most vulnerable in our system when they need it most."

“As an Alameda County Transportation commissioner, I have worked closely with constituents on transportation issues and am dedicated to making sure the interests of the East Bay are represented as our committee faces some challenging issues this year.”

“I’m excited to serve on committees that deal with important issues facing the 18th District of California - from the pension system to implementing health care reform to strengthening our transportation system. I am ready to get to work and am looking forward to representing the District on these five influential committees,” Bonta concluded.
