Bay Farm Bike Path Repairs Scheduled

Expect construction next week, Aug. 6-10. Cyclists will be able to use the pedestrian path while work is going on.

From a City of Alameda announcement:

To improve bicycle access on Harbor Bay/Bay Farm Island, the bike paths along Veterans Court, Island Drive, and Mecartney Road will be repaired from Aug. 6 to Aug. 10. Construction hours are between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Damaged sections of the bike path that have been raised by tree roots will be replaced with a paved ramp. During construction bicyclists will be directed to use the adjacent pedestrian path; the impact on cyclists is expected to be minimal.

Notices, placed on barricades at locations where the repair work is to be performed, will be posted 72 hours before the work commences.  The Homeowners Associations, adjacent to the project, will also be notified 14 days before construction begins.
