City of Alameda Taking Applications for Housing Commission

Applications for one vacancy due by Nov. 1

The city council is soliciting applications from residents who would like to serve on Alameda's Housing Commission, according to a city press release. The appointee will serve a partial term expiring June 30, 2014.

Application forms may be obtained from, and filed with, the City Clerk, City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, Room 380; via the city’s website; or by telephoning the Office of the City Clerk at 510-747-4800.

Interested persons are encouraged to apply by Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011.

The Housing Commission meets at 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at the Independence Plaza Community Room, 703 Atlantic Ave.

The commission advises the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners of the availability of programs which provide for the development of assisted housing, and maintenance, modernization or revitalization of existing facilities.
