City to Hold Public Workshop on Memorial Day Drowning Oct. 11

Consultant Ruben Grijalva will discuss and answer questions on his independent report about the Crown Beach incident

Alamedans will have their chance to hear directly from former state Fire Marshal Ruben Grijalva of FireChiefs.com, LLC, the on the at Crown Beach, during a special meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

The Oct. 11 meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the City Councl Chambers, third floor, Alameda City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Ave.

It is the second of three public workshops scheduled by the council this fall. The first, on Sept. 27, dealt with labor negotiations between the city and municipal employees. The third in the series, focusing on the city budget, will be held Oct. 25. All three were organized as special meetings of the city council, with no other items on the agenda.
