City Updates Park Street Construction Schedule
Construction on the Park Street Streetscape project will resume Jan. 3
The City of Alameda has released a new schedule for construction in the Park Street business district.
Work on the Streetscape project began in October, but after about the disruption to the street during the busy shopping season.

Construction on Park Street is scheduled to resume on Jan. 3, with completion expected by mid-April, 2012.
The revised schedule, which could be changed if more rain than anticipated delays some of the work, is:

- San Jose Avenue to Encinal Avenue: east side, Jan. 3-23; west side, Jan. 17-Feb. 6.
- Encinal Avenue to Central Avenue: east side, Jan. 3-Feb. 20; west side, Jan. 11-Feb. 28.
- All blocks: March 6-29, with city inspections and any needed corrections April 2-14.
Work will include ; construction of accessible curb ramps; some reconstruction of curbs, gutters and sidewalks; and installation of new street lights, bike racks, bus shelters and parking meter pay stations.
