Draft EIR for Alameda Point Now Available

Ten locations around town where you can read the draft EIR, plus how to buy your own copy for $45. The first public hearing is at the Planning Board meeting on Monday, Sept. 9.

From a City of Alameda press release:

The Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for Alameda Point is now available for its 45-day public review and comment period, which starts on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 and ends on Monday, October 21, 2013.

The draft EIR provides an evaluation of the potential environmental impacts that may be expected as the result of the redevelopment and reuse of Alameda Point, consistent with the City’s General Plan and Reuse Plan.  The draft EIR is an informational document; it does not approve or deny the project, it provides important information that must be considered.  It informs the community, the Planning Board, and the City Council before any final decisions or any final actions are made on the Alameda Point project.
The Draft EIR is a 1,000 page document. While it is available, in chapters, on the City’s website, some people may find it too cumbersome to read online. Hence, the City is providing hard copies for public review at the following locations across Alameda:
