All local incumbents on the Alameda school board, health care district board and Peralta Community College District board whose terms expire this year will be seeking election in November, according to a report issued by the Alameda County Registrar of Voters early this morning. So will plenty of challengers, especially for school board seats.
The deadline to file nomination papers for these offices was Friday, Aug. 10. (Candidates for Alameda City Council seats, city auditor and city treasurer had to file with the Alameda City Clerk's office by Thursday, Aug. 9. See the final line-up for those offices in this article.)
Among those qualifying for the Nov. 6 ballot was Leland Traiman, who will be seeking a seat on the City of Alameda Health Care District board of trustees. Traiman had also taken out nomination papers for two other offices: city council (did not file) and school board (withdrawn).
