Greenway Golf Agreement on Council Agenda

The Alameda City Council will meet in special session tonight at 7.

The Alameda City Council will vote tonight on final approval for an agreement with Greenway Golf for the long-term operation of the Chuck Corica Golf Complex. Approval requires four affirmative votes.

The council is holding a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, in the City Hall council chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Ave.

  • A request from Councilmember Lena Tam for the City Council to waive the confidential attorney-client privileged communication on a memorandum dated Dec. 1, 2011 from Andrew Thomas, Planning Services Manager, to Donna Mooney, Acting City Attorney, entitled Housing Element Update. Tam writes in her request, "At the Dec. 6 , 2011 special meeting of the City Council (Closed Session under "Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to subdivision (b) of Section 54956. ), this memorandum served as the basis of the City Council' discussion and direction to City Staff, leading to a sequence of public meetings and actions prior to the City Council consideration of the 2012 Housing Element in July 2012."
  • Authorization for the county to collect Measure O taxes on personal and real property. Measure O authorized issuance of bonds for construct the new Main Library andmake improvements to branch libraries. The required tax rate for fiscal year 2012-13 is $8.50/$100,000 of assessed valuation, according to a staff report.
