High St. Bridge Closed Thursday 10-Noon

The bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic for two hours, although pedestrians and bicyclists will be able to use the walkways.

The High Street Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic on Thursday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to noon, according to a press release from the Alameda County Public Works Agency.

The agency will be installing cable neeting to the recently repaired bridge barrier, a vehicle restraint system that is part of the bridge safety mechanism and needs to be replaced, the release says.

Bridge walkways will remain accessible to pedestrians and bicyclists.  Both are urged to use caution when traveling through the work area.
