Mayor to Give 'State of the City' Speech Tonight

The annual address comes near the beginning of today's Alameda City Council meeting.

Mayor Marie Gilmore will give the annual "State of the City" address at tonight's Alameda City Council meeting.

Her address will include highlights from 2012 and goals for 2013, according to a city press release.

The mayor's speech will come near the beginning of the meeting, immediately following the council's action on the consent calendar.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Ave.

Among the other items on tonight's agenda:

—A five-year agreement with the Alameda Museum for archival services of City of Alameda records; and introduction of an ordinance conveying the Meyers House Museum and Garden, 2021 Alameda Ave. by grant deed to the Alameda Museum.

—A request from Councilmember Stewart Chen to re-affirm support for the creation of the Alameda Wildlife Refuge at Alameda Point.
