The will host the 2012 Alameda County Transition Information Fair March 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m..
The event is designed to facilitate the successful transition from school to adult services for youth with developmental disabilities. At the event adult services programs will be represented and educational workshops will be offered.
According to the Alameda County Public Health Department, the fair is an opportunity for students with developmental disabilities, ages 14-22, their families, teachers, case managers and other interested persons to learn more about transitioning from adolescence to adulthood, and the adult services providers in Alameda County.
The event is being presented by the Alameda County Developmental Disabilities Council, the Regional Center of the East Bay, Area Board 5, College of Alameda, the public health department and local school districts.
Registration is required. The cost is $10 per person or $15 per family and includes a breakfast bar, lunch and workshops.
Students must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Space is limited.
