The cleanup status at Alameda Point will be the subject of a special presentation at tonight's (Nov. 2) meeting of the Alameda Reuse and Redevelopment Authority (ARRA). The ARRA is the city council in its role as administrator for Alameda Point.
The presentation will be made by Dr. Peter Russell, the city's longtime consultant on environmental matters for Alameda Point. Dr. Russell attends all of the Restoration Advisory Board meetings and submits comments to the Navy on cleanup documents and proposed cleanup activities on behalf of the city.
This presentation by Dr. Russell will be his first public presentation to the ARRA and comes as the City is preparing for the phased no-cost transfer of the area where all the buildings are, as well as the portion of the runway area known as the Northwest Territories.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, 3rd Floor. The meeting can be viewed on local cable tv and on the city's webcast center. Podcasts are also available.
