Chinese Christian Heads to World Tournament

The ’ Odyssey of the Mind middle school team won second place in the Odyssey of the Mind state championship and is advancing to the World Tournament this May at Iowa State University.

The middle school teams had the task of creating a structure that could carry a large amount of dead weight. The team used 12 grams of balsa wood to build a structure that supported 550 pounds of dead weight.

Students from both the Alameda and San Leandro campuses teamed up over a period of months to work on not only on the engineering aspect of the task, but answer questions, create a display and present the project to the judges.
