Alameda, CA (January 17, 2012)

Margie Sherratt, President of the Alameda Unified School District (AUSD) Board of Education, will offer an update on Alameda’s public schools and the challenges facing them during the League of Women Voters of Alameda’s (LWVA’s) free public forum at the Alameda Elks Lodge on Thursday, February 9, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

President Sherratt will address current issues facing the schools, including student achievement, AUSD’s current budget and financing, contract negotiations and relations with its unions, and the effects of state budget shortfalls and governmental actions on local school financing.
