Over 200 student-athletes from Alameda's public middle schools will be competing in the Track & Field Championships starting Tuesday, June 5, and continuing on Wednesday, June 6. The program is run by the Alameda Education Foundation.
Tuesday's events include the long jump and shot put and will be held at Encinal High School. On Wednesday, athletes compete in the running events including the 1600 meter, 100 meter, 400 meter, 50 meter, 800 meter, 4 x 100 relay and 4 x 400 relay at College of Alameda. Students compete from The Academy of Alameda, Lincoln, Wood and Nea/ACLC middle schools.
Both meets start at 4 p.m. and are free to the public.
