Public Utilities Board Presents $13,239 Check to Alameda Education Foundation

At its regular meeting on July 21, the City of Alameda’s Public Utilities Board presented a check for $13,239.29 to the Alameda Education Foundation (AEF). The check represents funds collected by Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) for Power Up for Learning, a joint program of AMP and AEF.

The Power Up for Learning program offers AMP customers the opportunity to support local schools by adding an amount of their choice to their monthly electric bill.

Funds collected are dedicated to technology programs in the schools. Since the program’s inception in 2004, AMP has collected over $42,000 for Alameda’s public schools.
