School Board Approves Moving Wood Special Ed Students to Encinal

Between 15 to 20 students will be moved to make room for students from Alameda Community Learning Center, which will move to Wood's campus in fall, the Mercury News reports.

Alameda Unified School District board voted to approve moving some Wood Middle School special education students to Encinal High School's campus, despite protests from parents, students and educators, according to the Mercury News.

Between 15 to 20 students will be moved to make room for students from Alameda Community Learning Center, which will move to Wood's campus in fall, the Mercury News reports. Some other special education classes will still remain at Wood, according to the Mercury News.

A new program called Junior Jets will move to the Encinal campus next school year, which caused the need to find space elsewhere for the ACLC, the Mercury News reports.
