Alameda's Coastal Cleanup

Volunteers came to clean up our shoreline and record the types of trash they found. Learn more about the annual cleanup and the results from the last 26 years.

Nearly 400 volunteers came out and combed Crown Beach to clean up litter last weekend and many others contributed to the shoreline clean-up and data gathering at five local marinas.  These volunteers are part of the largest international volunteer effort on record, with Coastal Cleanup in its twenty-seventh year.  While this year's statistics are not finalized, you can find some startling statistics gleaned from the last 26 years worth of data at my blog for KQED QUEST.  Thanks so much to all the volunteers that came out for the cleanup!  You are helping to make a difference in our City!
