Harbor Bay Realty Blue Dynamite, 6 vs. Hayward Crushers, 5: The Blue Dynamite held on to their lead in a well-matched game against the Hayward Crushers. Kenna Davis, Katherine Legg, Sydney Watt, and Alyse Nunnally were fierce at the plate with each girl going 2 for 2. Kenna’s outfield double in the 2nd inning drove in two runs and sealed the Dynamite win. Defensively, Sydney Watt turned in a great heads up play at 2nd base.

Coast Guard Chiefs Firecrackers, 4 vs. FruittiYogi Blue Diamonds, 2: The Blue Diamonds were ready to play but came up a just tad short in a hard-fought game with the Firecrackers. Ani Tuutafaiva opened strong as pitcher with a nice strike-out in the first inning, and Ayako Kiener hit a two-run single in the bottom of the inning.  Despite some great defensive plays, like Ani’s laser throw from second base to Lula Johnson at first to retire a batter, the Blue Diamonds ultimately lost to the Firecrackers 4-2.

Carroll Construction Lightning Bolts, 10 vs. FruittiYogi Blue Diamonds, 2: The Blue Diamonds showed their improved defensive skills and solid hitting in a rematch against the first-place Lightning Bolts. Blue Diamonds highlights included Jayda Aviles connecting with Ayako Kiener for two consecutive force-outs to close out the 1st. In the face of strong pitching, Patricia Penalver got the first Diamonds hit of the game in the 2nd and later drove in Ani Tuutafavia with a solid hit in the 4th. Zoe Matsuzaki added a RBI double to bring in Cate Rosenbaum in the 4th too.  Several players, like Raquel Williams and Taylor Andolsek, made a difference with their hits and fielding throughout.

Oakland Lone Rangers, 2 vs. Law Office of Paul Mahler/McDonalds Shoreline  Hot Ice, 6: Another fantastically executed game by the Hot Ice team to earn them another win for the season.  Strong defensive playing by Samantha Shaffer to start the game off with a throw down from 3rd base to 1st base for the first out of the game.  Offensively the bats were Hot once again with singles by Annie Lynch, Bella Sheel, Ariana Verdusco Dominique Barrs, Tatiana Kelly and Meida Tautalatasi.  RBI’s by Lynch, Barrs and Verdusco kept the Hot Ice team steaming.
