Alameda Girls Softball Game Reports Through May 8

Sunny days mean games played.

You can read previous Alameda Girls Softball Association game reports , and . And if you seen a somewhere by a roadside or in the bushes, it might just belong to the AGSA. WebAssign Blue Dolphins vs. Little House Café Little Angels: The weather was cold but the action was hot as the LilAngels squared off against the Blue Dolphins on Saturday morning. Audrey Barnes, Anna Kranson, and Rosie Wallis all added runs. The fielding was excellent as Jalyn Marks and Jadyn Banaria made key plays. Stella Cashin and Sarah Freeman teamed to insure nothing made it past the third base line. The skill held the Lil Angels to a tie.

Harbor Bay Realty Blue Dynamite, 1 vs. Fruitti Yogi Blue Diamonds, 8: The Blue Dynamite put up a good fight in the cold morning hours, but still came up short in a hard fought game against the Blue Diamonds. Offensively, Katherine Legg, Alyse Nunnally, Madeline Roorda, Joanna Ruiz, and Sydney Watt contributed the only Dynamite hits of the game. Alyse scored their only run with Joanna getting the sole RBI. Defensively, Elizabeth Ekern had a great heads up play to get the out at home and keep a run off the board. Kenna Davis snagged a line drive to get an impressive solo out at 1st.

Bayside Specialty Construction / Dr Johnson & Jolley Clover Dragons, 3 vs. Fruitti Yogi Blue Diamonds, 4: The Clover Dragons and Blue Diamonds had a spirited matchup on Thursday. The Blue Diamonds showed off their defensive skill with a great catch of a popup by Ani Tuutafavia and a heads-up force out at second by Zoe Matsuzaki. Ayako Kiener contributed on the mound, striking out two. The Blue Diamonds offense featured a ringing double by Patricia Penalver, and Lula Johnson had the game-winning hit, driving in Isobel Moore. 

Oakland Green Phoenix, 6 vs. Citizen Black Magic, 7: Isabella McCarter cracked a double in the bottom of the 2nd and Deanna Benedetto added a double, which drove in an RBI in the 3rd. In the bottom of the 4th inning, the Black Magic rallied from their 1 run deficit, driving in 3 doubles by Mariah Moore, Mira Piamonte and Cheyanne Rios. Debut pitching from Sydney Williams, Kiley Carter and Cheyanne Rios added 5 strike-outs.Great base running by Brooklyn Bilstien, who scored at home after two stolen bases.

AdvancedHealth Chiropractic & Law Offices of Scott Hennigh Royal Dragons, 5 vs. Dr Johnson & Jolley & Bayside Specialty Construction Green Clover Dragons, 2: The Royal Dragons had a great showing with some power hitting from Abby Briganti, Chloe Amaden and Nicky Kim.   Mia Cunningham and Rosie Tillman were all smiles when they got their first singles of the season. Sadie Cevallos showed off her fielding skills when she stopped a fast ground ball and threw it to Sophia Middleton for an out. Megan Kim finished the exciting final inning when she caught a fly ball and threw to first for a double play.

Bay Area Children’s Theatre Purple Lightning, 4 vs. Alameda Orthopedic & Sports Therapy Green Energy, 3: The Bay Area Children’s Theatre Purple Lightning had an incredible game against the Alameda Orthopedic & Sports Therapy Green Energy. The Purple Lightning had another great game with fantastic pitching and strong fielding. Briana St. Denis energized the team with a triple.  There were also hits from Amanda Quezada, Ella Duchesneau, Casey Stoddard, Christine Warren and April McCarver.

Linda C. Avery Ph.D Flaming Hot Cheetos, 6 vs. Law Office of Paul Mahler/McDonalds Shoreline Hot Ice, 7: The Cheetos opened up the 1st with a 3 run lead quickly the Hot Ice melted that lead away and advanced with 4 runs on the board in the bottom of the 1st.  Singles by Annie Lynch,  Bella Sheel,  Dominque Barrs, Meida Tautalatasi and Tatiana Kelly.  The Cheetos rallied back in the 6th inning with two runs scored by Alexis Esparza and Victoria Avery tying the score.  Bottom of the 6th Hot Ice at bat Dominque Barrs hammers a triple down the first base line scoring the winning run by Meida Tautalatasi for a victory over the Cheetos.

Linda Avery PhD Flaming Hot Cheetos, 12 vs. Oakland Loan Rangers, 4: The Flames packed their pitching and hitting for the trip to Oakland.  Pitchers Lily Wilmot, Victoria Avery and Jackie Smith combined for 11 strikeouts.  Alexis Esparza and Cassie Lumpkin lead a balanced offensive attack, each getting on base safely and scoring in all 3 of their at-bats, and all eleven Flames players got on base during the game.  The final score sent the Flames home to Alameda smiling!

Law Office of Paul Mahler & McDonalds Shoreline Hot Ice, 14 vs. Piedmont Semi Aggressive Dinosaurs, 3: The Ice started their at bat putting 4 runs on the board at the bottom of the 1st. A wicked defensive play by the Ice 3rd Baseman Samantha Shaffer to first baseman Tautalatasi to throw out the Dinosaur runner to keep the Dinosaurs scoreless .   Great defensive playing by catcher Sally Parsons to first baseman Meida Tautalatasi to throw out  the runner at 1st base for the 1st out of the 2nd inning.  Becky McEachern, Bella Sheel and Dominique Barrs had powerful singles to continue
